Sony TGS 2011 Press Conference Announces Vita Dec 17 Date for Japan, 100 Titles

Sony’s Tokyo Game Show 2011 conference opened up with the obligatory bar graphs, sales charts and December 17th launch for Vita in Japan followed by Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono. The beloved Street Fighter producer announced Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 for Vita and that those crazy cat mascots for Playstation in Japan will be fighters in Street Fighter x Tekken, good luck seeing them on this side of the pond.

After 10 years FFX will return in HD.

Square Enix also showed logos for two new games Lord of Apocalypse for launch and Army Corps of Hell which besides sounding crazy probably won’t be seen for quite a while. The big reveal was that one of my favorite Square game Final Fantasy X will be in HD for both the Vita and the PS3, no word on what sort of changes will or won’t be made. Here’s for hoping the infamous laughing scene will be removed from existence.

Hideo Kojima himself then came out to further discuss Transfarring announcing that along with the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection PS3 owners will be able to play the Zone of the Enders collection on both the PS3 and Playstation Vita along with the announcement that whatever game will be developed with Konami’s new Fox Engine will support Transfarring.

Sony then went into a fury of announcing games including but not limited to Dark Quest, Ridge Racer, Michael Jackson, G Portable, a new Blazblue, Lord of Apocalypse, Gravity Day,s Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Wipeout 2048 Starstrike Delta, MALICIOUS, Escape Plan along with support for PSP games downloaded from PSN.
